SNPP VIIRS Day Night Band (DNB) in GOES-16 projection on SLIDER

The SNPP VIIRS Day Night Band (DNB) imagery is now available on RAMMB-CIRA SLIDER, https://rammb-slider2.cira.colostate.edu in near real-time. The DNB data is scaled using tropical DNB scaling originally developed for tropical cyclone (TC) centric VIIRS DNB imagery.  For each GOES-16 image, every 10 minutes, all intersecting VIIRS granules are selected, and the part of VIIRS swath for 20 minutes centered at the time of GOES-16 data and regridded to 0.5 km GOES-16 Visible Channel 2 grid is displayed. The data close to the full moon (the last full moon was on 20 October 2021) provides the best display of nighttime imagery. (POC: G. Chirokova, R. DeMaria, CIRA, J.
