New Satellite Liaison Blog Post
A blog post titled “Texas Haboob 22 Mar 2021” was recently published in collaboration with NWS Midland, TX. The post shares an operational example of how GOES-East imagery was vital in tracking the progression of dense blowing dust (haboob) and associated wind shift as it approached a wildfire hotspot. Forecasters used this information to provide potentially life and property saving information to local partners. See Figure below. The link to the post can be found here. (POC: B.
