Introduction

This session provides NWS field personnel with information on how to apply the “Ten Principles of Climate Monitoring” to operations of the nation’s weather and climate observing networks. The unit is targeted at Regional Climate Services Program Managers, Regional Cooperative Observer Program Managers, WFO focal points, WFO MICs, and SOOs. However, anyone is welcome to participate.

The following topics will be discussed:

  • Background information on the relevance of climate monitoring principles to NWS field operations.
  • Communication paths and coordination channels with climate community partners are identified.
  • The ten principles are reviewed.
  • Actions required by NWS field personnel to insure compliance with each principle are reviewed.

Training Session Options
