Designing an Effective Survey: A beginning course for physical scientists

Introduction:


This training session provides an introduction in how to design an effective survey. This course is also useful in helping those reading about other surveys to assess how well a survey was designed. The target audience is for physical scientists (i.e., NOAA/NWS forecasters). Learning objectives include an introduction to social science research, the Institutional Review Board, statistics-based social research, and an example of a statistics-based study.
