Introduction:

This module is part of the Satellite Foundational Course for GOES-R (SatFC-G). This particular module covers the GOES-R Cloud Products and includes information on Fog and Low Stratus. GOES-R Cloud Products, such as Cloud Mask, Cloud-top Properties (Height, Pressure, Temperature), Cloud Optical Depth and Cloud Phase can help a forecaster more completely describe cloud attributes and anticipate weather events related to specific cloud types. The temporal cadence and horizontal resolution of the products is discussed, as well as the accuracy and use of the products
