OCTANE Direction Sandwich now on SLIDER

Figure: OCTANE Direction Sandwich shown over Storm Debby on 6 Aug 2024 at 22:49 UTC, shown with wind barb overlays.

The Optical flow Code for Tracking, Atmospheric motion vector, and Nowcasting Experiments Direction sandwich is now provided in near-real-time in all 4 GOES mesosectors on SLIDER2: https://rammb-slider2.cira.colostate.edu/.  The product blends 0.64 (10.3) μm imagery (brightness) with the resolved cloud-drift motion directions (colors) and highlights convection developing in strong directional vertical shear, as well as trends in intensity over mature convection via cloud-top divergence.  The product also highlights the center of low-pressure systems (see figure below).  (POC: J.
