TCFP Science Walkthrough

The Tropical Cyclone Formation Probability (TCFP) guidance product team (C. Slocum, J. Knaff, J. Dostalek) completed the science walkthrough with Algorithm Scientific Software Integration and System Transition Team (ASSISTT). The science walkthrough highlights how the algorithm processes input raw data from the global constellation of geostationary satellites, sea surface temperatures, numerical weather prediction forecast fields, and tropical cyclone storm metadata.  A consensus of classification machine learning algorithms use these input features to create tropical cyclogenesis probabilities.
