Tropical Cyclone Training for the Central Pacific Hurricane Center (CPHC)

M. DeMaria, K. Musgrave and G. Chirokova provided a 45 min training session for CPHC on CIRA products for tropical cyclone analysis and forecasting. This training was part of a 1-day CPHC workshop to get ready for the upcoming Hurricane Season. Topics covered in the CIRA training included wind speed probability products, applications of new AI weather prediction models for track and intensity forecasting, and tropical cyclone products from GOES, JPSS and TROPICS for wind structure analysis, center finding and intensity forecasting.
