Introduction

This module is part of the satellite foundational course for GOES-R (SatFC-G). This particular module covers the Legacy Atmospheric Profiles that are produced from the GOES-R ABI. These vertical profiles are meant to supplant the GOES Sounder DPI products. The temporal cadence and horizontal resolution of the products is discussed, as well as the accuracy and use of the products. Examples from GOES Sounder and Himawari data are shown. Examples of forecast problems helped by the LAP Products are shown.
